NEW ROCHELLE, NY - The College of New Rochelle Men's Soccer team recorded their fourth conference victory this season with a strong 4 - 1 win over The King's College. The win moves the Blue Angels up in their conference ranking bringing their current conference record to 4 - 1 - 1.
The Blue Angels scored their first goal in the 17th minute of the game when freshman Juan Arboleda scored from the edge of the box. CNR would hold this lead up until the last two minutes of the half when King's College Josiah Simons found the net leaving the game at a 1 - 1 tie going into halftime.
The second half started off slow for both teams until sophomore Cesar Rodriguez (Santa Ana, CA) scored ten minutes in. He received an excellent assist from Heber Maldonado (Chandler, AZ) to take the lead at 2 - 1. The Blue Angels continued to work their offense for the rest of the second half keeping King's College on the defense. In the last twenty minutes freshman Xavier Cruzata (Pasadena, CA) would score two goals to secure the victory for CNR with a 4 - 1 win.
The Blue Angels will continue their pursuit to make the conference playoffs this Sunday, October 15 at 7:00 PM when the SUNY - ESF Mighty Oaks travel down to New Rochelle.
