HVIAC Players of the Week - October 10

Men's Soccer Player of the Week

Joseph Kulikowski, SUNY ESF

Sophomore • Forward • Grand Island, N.Y.

Kulikowski recorded back-to-back hat-tricks and notched the game-winning goals in victories over Alfred State and Vaughn to lead SUNY ESF to a 3-0 week.

Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week

Michel Wenzel, King's

Freshman • Midfielder • Hosbach, Germany

Wenzel scored the game-winning goal and finished with two goals on four shots in King's 4-0 league win over Pratt.

Men's Soccer Co-Rookie of the Week

Carmine Tronolone, SUNY ESF

Freshman • Goalkeeper • Buffalo, N.Y.

Tronolone made 19 saves over 245 shutout minutes in goal to compile a 3-0 record for the Mighty Oaks.

Women's Cross Country Player of the Week

Peg Smith, Pratt

Freshman • Littleton, Colo.

Smith finished the York College Invitational in third place overall leading Pratt to a second-place team finish. She covered the 6K loop at Van Cortlandt Park in 26:09 to earn her second weekly honor of the season.

Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week

Erin Cocca, SUNY ESF

Freshman • East Aurora, N.Y.

Cocca notches her third Rookie of the Week award as the top finisher for the SUNY ESF at the Hamilton College Invitational. Her 5K time of 19:52 placed her in ninth overall and paced the Mighty Oaks to a third-place team finish.

Men's Cross Country Player of the Week

Mark McClenahan, SUNY ESF

Freshman • Doylestown, Pa.

McClenahan repeats as Player of the Week and garners his fourth weekly honor notching an 11th place finish out of 120 runners at the Hamilton College Invitational. His 8K time of 27:03 paced ESF to third place in the team race.

Women's Volleyball Player of the Week

Marcela Andonie, Culinary

Senior • Outside/Middle Hitter • San Pedro, Honduras

Andonie helped the Steels to an unblemished 3-0 week slamming 15 kills at a .270 clip along with 17 digs and four aces in straight-set victories over Word of Life Bible and Cooper Union.

Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week

Margaret DeMarco, Culinary

Sophomore • Setter/Opposite Hitter • Virginia Beach, Va.

DeMarco totaled 14 kills and maintained a .407 attacking percentage in wins over Word of Life Bible Institute and Cooper Union as the Steels went 3-0 for the week.

Honor Roll

 

Omario Rosen, Berkeley • Men's Soccer

Rosen scored two goals in the Knight's 3-1 league win over New Rochelle.

Thomas Sternglass, Pratt • Men's Cross Country

The junior covered Van Cortlandt Park in 32:17 to finish in 25th overall at the York Invitational.

Lolo Walker, SUNY ESF • Women's Cross Country

Walker finished seventh overall at the York Invitational with a time of 26:48 helping the Cannoneers to second in the team competition.
